The practice domains and percentages below indicate the emphasis of questions that will appear on the exam.
1. T he Process of Auditing Information Systems (14 percent)—Provide audit services in accordance with IT audit standards to assist the organization with protecting and controlling information systems.
2. Governance and Management of IT (14 percent)—Provide assurance that the necessary leadership and organizational structures and processes are in place to achieve objectives and to support the organization's strategy.
3. Information Systems Acquisition, Development and Implementation (19 percent)—Provide assurance that the practices for the acquisition, development, testing, and implementation of information systems meet the organization's strategies and objectives.
4. Information Systems Operations, Maintenance and Support (23 percent)—Provide assurance that the processes for information systems operations, maintenance and support meet the organization's strategies and objectives.
5. Protection of Information Assets (30 percent)—Provide assurance that the organization's security policies, standards, procedures and controls ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets.

The CISA Exam
The CISA exam is offered annually and consists of 200 multiple-choice questions that cover the five job practice domains listed above. Questions are maintained and based on the most recent CISA job practice analysis to ensure that a candidate's proficiency in IS audit, control, assurance or security practices is accurately tested. F. According to ISACA, "The job practice analysis was developed and validated using prominent industry leaders, subject matter experts and industry practitioners".

Requirements for CISA Training
Intending students are expected to have knowledge in I.T Security / Information Techology / Financial Auditing / Accounting.

Requirements for Earning CISA Certification
In addition, it is important that candidates are aware that to be certified, they must pass the examination, agree to adhere to ISACA's Code of Professional Ethics, submit evidence of a minimum of five years of professional IS auditing, control, or security work, and abide by a program of continuing professional education.

A passing score on the CISA exam, without completing the required work experience, is valid for five years. "If the applicant does not meet the CISA certification requirements within the five year period, the passing score is voided".
